Returning parent

You already have a PowerSchool account

Nothing is reset over the summer and no new account is issued. Sign in with the username and password you have always used.

One account covers every child.

There is no need to create a second one. A duplicate is not linked to your children, so it will not show their grades. If you cannot get in, reset the password on the account you already have — below — and submit a ticket if a duplicate has already been made.

Forgot your password

The Access ID and Access Password will not get you in — they only link a child to an account.

  1. Go to the sign-in pagearlingtondiocese.powerschool.com/public
  2. Click "Forgot Username or Password?"It is directly under the sign-in box.
  3. Check your emailPowerSchool emails a reset link to the address on your PowerSchool account.

SJS cannot see or reset your parent password — the reset has to come from PowerSchool itself.

Open PowerSchool Parent Portal

Adding another child

Add them to the account you already have:

  1. Sign inWith your existing username and password.
  2. Account Preferences → Students tabThen click Add.
  3. Enter that child's Access ID and Access PasswordRequest them with the form below if you do not have them.

Request an Access ID for a sibling

Only needed to add a child to your account. If you are just trying to sign in, you do not need this.

The email goes to the parent address on file, and only when it matches the student's date of birth in our records.

Parent Portal access

When the Parent Portal is open

When you can sign in depends on your child’s grade.

Grades 3 – 8

Open all year. Sign in whenever you like to see attendance, grades and report cards. There is no window to wait for.

Kindergarten – 2nd grade

Open at three points in the year for report card viewing, and closed in between. A paper copy of the report card is also sent home with your child.

  1. First report card Opens Friday, December 4, 2026after 3:30 PM Closes Friday, December 18, 2026
  2. Second report card Opens Friday, March 12, 2027after 3:30 PM Closes Thursday, March 25, 2027
  3. End of year Opens the last day of school, June 2027after 3:30 PM Closes 10 days later

New to St. Joseph this year? The portal is also open for the first 10 days of the school year so you can create your Parent Portal account. If that window has already passed, submit a ticket and we will get you set up.

Password reset is unavailable at a few points in the year.

The Diocese closes the Parent Portal between school years and while report cards are being finalized. During those periods the sign-in page and the Forgot Username or Password? link are turned off for every school, and the reset has to wait until it reopens. Nothing is wrong with your account, and once the portal is back your usual sign-in works as before. Submit a ticket and we will let you know as soon as it reopens.
