Schoology App Login
The Schoology app on a phone or tablet cannot use the school's Single Sign-On, so your child needs a real password for it. On a computer they never do.
On a computer — no password
Chrome signed in and synced to the SJS account, then open Schoology from the SJS Bookmark Bar. Your child is let straight in.
If a computer asks for a password, Chrome is signed in as the wrong person — that is a sync problem, not a password problem.
Schoology app — password needed
The app signs in on its own and cannot pass through Google. Request your child's Schoology password below.
Opening schoology.com in the tablet's browser instead of the app usually works with no password at all.
Discovery Education and IXL
These stay Single Sign-On — there is no separate password to request, on any device.
Open them from the SJS Bookmark Bar in Chrome on a computer. If a tablet will not open them, use the browser rather than the app.
What you will get back
Schoology insists on a password of at least 12 characters, so there are two cases — you do not need to know which one your child is, the form works it out.
- Most children. Their SJS Google password already meets the rule, so Schoology uses that same password. We email you a secure link to view it, good for 30 minutes.
- Some children. Their Google password was too short for Schoology, so the school set a separate Schoology password for them. We email that one to you directly.
Either way the answer comes by email — nothing is shown in the browser. If your child changes their Google password to 12+ characters, the two merge back together on their own.
Before you request
- Install Schoology from the App Store or Google Play, not a web shortcut.
- Sign in as the student. Parent Schoology access is a separate account.
- If the app offers Log in with Google, try that first — some versions support it.
- Keep the emailed password safe; it is your child's own school password.
